In the note So, with the accuracy and dependability of airplane wifi (that I’m currently struggling with), here’s my best take on the weekend box-office. #1 It Chapter 2 - Since I still have yet to talk to anyone who has liked this film, I was expecting a bigger drop than I’m seeing now.
Friday, October 4, 2019 First weekend of October 2019
In the note They had a great night last night and the numbers today look a lot like It 2 a couple of weeks ago, so figure it ends up in the same low 90’s range.
Friday, November 1, 2019 First weekend of November 2019
In the note Unfortunately, just like It Chapter 2, Rambo Last Blood, Gemini Man and Maleficent; it’s one more film that had a campaign that’s as good as you can ask for but will be looked at as a disappointment because tracking put out numbers that were way too high (more on this below).
Friday, September 8, 2023 Second weekend of September 2023
In the note Following the same pattern we’ve seen lately, we’ll crush last year's total ( Barbarian and a decent $4.5 million Bollywood film) and maybe get close to doubling it, and similarly we’ll be well behind 2019 where It Chapter 2 grosses a terrific $91.1 million.
