Where it turns up

Friday, September 20, 2019 Third weekend of September 2019
On the chart Downton Abbey (opening): $31.0M
Expected 'Low 30's if it behaves more like a normal adult skewing movie... I don't see a path where it doesn't win the weekend' Actual: $31.0M, #1, on the normal branch
In the note So, with the accuracy and stability normally associated with NRG’s Male 12-16 tracking sample, here’s my best take on the weekend box-office. #1 Downton Abbey - Focus did a really good job of turning this into a Sex in the City for the 1%rs and those who aspire to be a 1%r, the numbers today look every bit as good as we heard the pre-sales were.
Friday, September 27, 2019 Fourth weekend of September 2019
On the chart Downton Abbey (wk 2): $14.3M, -54%
Expected 'Claws its way up to the standard 50% drop for about $15 million' Actual: $14.3M, -54%
In the note Since this is the 3rd kids film using the same subject, I'd call that a win. #2 Downton Abbey - It’s down a lot today, but it was so hot last Friday that makes sense.
Friday, May 27, 2022 Top Gun Memorial Day 2022
In the note We’ll see how much it grows tomorrow, there is a decent kid component to this audience but right now it looks like about $10 million in 3 days, $12 million in 4 days. The two films from last week (Downton Abbey and Men) are taking the usual 2nd weekend hit today, but the rest of the holdovers look rock steady right now and should have very slight drops (if any) from last week.
