Anyway, with the same accuracy of an Arizona 3 point shot in the first half of a sweet 16 game, here are some thoughts on the weekend box-office. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire - As much as Godzilla gets A position in the title, this is Kong’s movie, and looking at the grosses today that’s a good thing and maybe Kong is the broader IP.

Although we had a surprisingly good couple of weeks (thanks to Legendary and WB), and we’re only about 9% behind 2023, this was an outlier weekend last year because of Super Mario Brothers, John Wick and Air so we’ll be way behind this year (we'll be about half of last year). Looking at the next couple of weeks, the new titles will probably be about the same this year as they were last year, so the main difference will be that Super Mario Brothers gross week after week. But this is the way it’s gonna be all year, unless we find some unexpected gems later in the release schedule. I don’t really have anything to say today, and it’s mostly spring break this week so most of you are out and about and probably won't read this anyway. Anyway, with the accuracy normally associated with an east coaster saying 'yeah, you out there on the west coast have to deal with all those earthquakes', here are some thoughts on the weekend box-office. Godzilla x Kong: A New Empire - We’re seeing the normal Good Friday to Friday after Good Friday drop, but even though it will have a big drop today from last week, it should right itself tomorrow.
