Midweek dispatch, Minions & Monsters opening day

Despicable Me 7 Minions & Monsters - This is a pretty complex weekend and can do a lot of weird things, mostly because the 4th of July is an outdoor activity event, and the weather can be a factor. I’ll dive deeper into the weekend on Friday, but this looks a little better than half of what Despicable Me 4 looked like on the Wednesday it opened on 2 years ago ($27.2 million on Wednesday). However, that was July 3 and with the next day being a Holiday, it was a semi-Friday night; so we might see this come in a little lower as the evening shows happen. But if it stays at the level it’s at, it looks like $13 million to $14 million for today; and looking back at how this weekend played out back in 2015, today looks about 15% of the 5 day, which would get it to the high 80’s for the 5 day. But a lot can happen between now and the end of the weekend, so that’s a total hipshot.
