The dark week, March 2020

Hello All,

Clearly there are no grosses to talk about but it seemed weird just to not send anything today. Over the last 15 years, I’ve been able to get this done even though I was an International Flight, a flight with broken Wifi (cough United, cough), had to write while I was driving somewhere with my laptop between me and the steering wheel, the days where I had absolutely nothing to say (a decent amount of those) or even getting this done after Nielsen threw me out of a 19th story window; but it still happened. About 10 years ago I started a doc with all the stuff I cut for tone, because it sucks or other reasons; and I thought about emptying that out week by week here just to have something to share. For example, last week I cut this line about Bloodshot because the day was so depressing ‘I’m not sure why anyone even spends any money developing a script for a Vin Diesel movie anymore. If you just had him riding around for 90 minutes on a Roomba it would still open to about $9 million, however during production there would be an issue with battery life on the Roomba’s, because the battery would die while you’re waiting for Vin to come to set’. Unfortunately that’s about the cream of the crop, most of them were cut for a reason, they sucked.

So, once I have something to talk about, I’ll be back to clutter your inbox until you eventually delete it. However, everyone on this dist list has some personal connection to me, that’s why you’re on the list. Over these next couple of weeks (or months), if there’s absolutely anything I can do for you to help you out, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
