Sounds completely ‘fair’ to me. Since the film business often feels like High School politics, and just like in High School you just vote for your friends (guilty here), fair is a tough bar to get over. Paramount got the exhibitors to do some dynamic pricing on 80 for Brady, and although it may or may not have had an effect on last weekend’s box office, something really interesting happened this week. As you know, Knock at the Cabin beat 80 for Brady last weekend by 1.4 million, and this week Knock at the Cabin’s weekdays were right in line with the decay you would see from a thriller.

Last year we had Knock at the Cabin, 80 for Brady and (similar to this weekend) a Fathom Event showing of The Chosen (more on that below), but the difference in gross between this year's new films and last year’s should be the difference.
