For now, this looks like mid 60’s for 3 and low 70’s for 4. Elemental - Today’s numbers look like they’re going to take a step back from last year’s Lightyear, but of course this doesn’t have the IP roots that Lightyear had.

And burying their heads in the sand is something Nielsen has been doing for a long long time. Anyway, with the accuracy normally associated with NewsNation's Titanic Sub oxygen countdown clock, here are some thoughts on the weekend box-office. We’ve got a little bit of a box-office derby here, and it’s possible Spider-Man, Elemental, The Flash or No Hard Feelings could win the weekend, but here’s my best guess based on what I’m seeing right now. Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse - Looks like DC’s loss is Marvel’s gain here.

But this year Disney took both Elemental and Indiana Jones to Cannes, hoping to be Top Gun Maverick and Elvis; and although the French didn’t quite say ‘non’, they unleashed their inner Lloyd Bentsen and said ‘we know Top Gun Maverick and Elvis, you’re no Top Gun Maverick and Elvis’.
