Where it turns up

Friday, September 23, 2022 Fourth weekend of September 2022
In the note Sometimes activating fan bases for performers who aren’t primarily actors can be a tough road, otherwise The Giver and Cats would have opened huge based on Taylor Swift’s inclusion in the cast (as for Amsterdam, 🤷‍♂️); but in this case they made Harry Styles make sense as an actor, and it looks like his fanbase is driving a decent part of this gross so far (and of course the rest of the cast here has fans too).
Friday, October 7, 2022 First weekend of October 2022
On the chart Amsterdam (opening): $6.4M
Expected 'It's not quite Bros bad, but it ain't much better. Figure a weekend of about 6 or 7' Actual: $6.4M
In the note And for an IP with a very young skew, that’s pretty good. Amsterdam - Ughh, it feels like I was watching Don’t Worry Darling all over again for the last 10 days (to a lesser degree though).
Friday, October 6, 2023 First weekend of October 2023
In the note Even with only one wide film this weekend, a decent success would give us a leg up on the same weekend last year (Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile and Amsterdam) and it looks like the one film will be good enough so we should have a nice 10% increase from last year.
